- How often do you have flights for standard shipping?
- We have flights from the U.S. 3x per week. Once packages have been cleared at Customs, you can expect them to be ready for pickup within 72 hours.
- How often do you ship by sea?
- We ship by sea once per week. We recommend using Sea shipping for large items such as barrels, furniture and large boxes. Although this option is slower it is more efficient for these items. It is also more cost effective.
- When do customs fees apply?
- Custom fees are applied to items valuing USD $100 or more. For items over the USD $100 threshold, a $400 JMD processing fee is applied.
- What are restricted items?
- Please take into consideration that we do not ship the following items. Toy guns, pepper spray, any form of weapons including swords, guns, ammunition, radar detectors, unprocessed meat, live animals, firecrackers, explosives, lighters and matches, camouflage, cash etc. To learn more about restricted items, please visit the Jamaica Customs Agency website.
- Do I have to upload an Invoice for all packages?
- Yes, all packages being shipped with us requires an invoice. This is to avoid your packages being detained at customs and prevent additional charges/fees. Your invoices are important to declare what is & the price of what's in each package.
- How long will my package take to arrive?
- Packages take 4-5 days to arrive in Jamaica after it is received/delivered at our warehouse.
- What is our warehouse opening hour?
- Our US warehouse operates from Mondays- Fridays (9AM-5PM) and on Saturdays (9AM - 2PM). The warehouse is closed on Sundays and all US holidays. We will not be responsible for packages left outside our warehouse after opening hours.
- Storage Fee
- Packages are stored free upto seven (7) days of being notified that they are ready.All packages will attract a storage Fee after 7 days of not being collected or paid for to be sent through knutsford express. Storage/late fee will be charged at $150 per day after 7 days. K&R Express Shipping reserves the right to dispose or auction packages after 30 days of them not being collected.
- Lost Packages
- K&R Express Shipping will only take responsibility of lost packages, only if the item was uploaded to our warehouse and there is proof that the package was at some point handled by our team. In such case, both parties will come to a favorable agreement to resolve such issue. We will however, not bear responsibility for packages that are left outside our business hours unattended by delivery personnel as there are signs instructing the drivers not to deliver packages when the warehouse is closed.
- Processing Fee
- All packages over the 10lb weight mark will attract a $200 processing fee. For packages that value US $100 or more, a $400 processing fee will be applied to those packages along with the custom charges imposed on said package. Please note that all custom duty fees are payable by you the customer.
- Who is my package open and re- tapped?
- All packages that pass through customs are subjected to inspection, this involves customs opening packages to inspect what is inside to make sure that the items you are shipping complies with the custom regulations.
- Do you offer express shipping?
- Yes, we do offer express shipping. We ship 5 times per week for our express service. You can expect to have your packages ready for pickup within 48–72 hours after they have been delivered to our warehouse.
- Difference between express and standard shipping?
- We offer both express and standard shipping. When you use our express service, you can expect to receive your packages with 48–72 hours after they have been delivered. As opposed to our standard service, you can expect to receive your packages within 5–7 days after they have been delivered. Please note that we ship 5 times per week for express and 3 times per week for standard. Please bear in mind that our express and standard rates are different. Once a package is delivered to our express address, it will attract express rate.
